By what effect are the teeth moved?

In classic braces, the teeth are moved via forces created by the interaction of the bracket and the wire arch used. For a transparent brace, forces also occur depending on the particular brace.

Each dental splint made individually for the patient contains the shape or "information" of a certain defined tooth position. It is therefore shaped in the way the tooth position should look at the end of the usually two-week wearing period. By changing the transparent dental splints, the teeth to be moved are thus moved step by step into the desired position digitally planned by the dentist. Therefore, the continuous wearing of dental splints is crucial for the treatment result. Each splint can only transmit a certain amount of force and movement. If a dental splint is not worn enough or not worn at all, the respective information of the tooth position is not transmitted accurately. This cannot be compensated for by the next dental splint either.
