How and by whom will my clear aligners be designed and manufactured?
The planning of orthodontic treatment, even merely for aesthetic reasons and in the anterior region, is a medical service and should only be performed by licensed physicians. Only they have the necessary expertise and experience. When choosing a provider for transparent dental splints, you should pay close attention to the fact that the treatment is not carried out by dental technicians, for example.
Trained dental technicians take over other process steps on the way to the finished dental splints. They digitise the dental impressions and prepare them for the doctor's planning. The treating physician then creates a so-called digital setup with an optimal position of the teeth and calculates several intermediate steps individualised for the patient. These steps define the times at which thepatient will later change his or her splints. As a rule, this is every two weeks.
The clear braces are then manufactured and finished in a dental laboratory using the 3D printing process. It usually takes a series of successive clear braces to achieve the desired position.
