How are the invisible dental splints made?
After thedental impressions are received in the laboratory, they are poured with a veryfine plaster, which is then removed after a while. The plaster model is thendigitised into a virtual three-dimensional model by a 3D scanner using thelatest technology. This 3D scan of a plaster model is ultimately comparable tothe 3D scan of the patient's oral cavity, which can be performed directly in adentist's office.
The digital models of the upper and lower jaw that have now been created are now analysed, processed and checked using special software. This process is, of course, carried out by a doctor. He pays particular attention to the target model, which shows the tooth position when the splint treatment is successfully completed. A newly developed dental software is then used to calculate the individual tooth movements that are to be achieved later in two-week cycles. These are checked again by a doctor.
The result culminates in the individual treatment plan. If the customer agrees with the target result, the dental splints can now be produced in the laboratory using 3D printing.
